This was a very simple afternoon read. The story is about a young girl who is raised to be a violent horse thief in the frontier plains. It was a little predictable, but a good summer read. I enjoyed the historical aspect of it, and it reminded me that I like books that are set well in the past. Hmmm… I should look for some of those…

WILLA Award nomineeSadie was abandonned by her parents and then stolen from the circus by horse thiefs. She escapes after ice rapes her for the xth time and finds a family that could use her to help with their horses. Better than I thought it would be.

Basically, more of a Western than a romance, which I enjoyed. It started off as a 4 star read for me, but then became kind of boring at the end, which is why I dropped it a star.
