I'm thinking about giving copies to my reluctant readers so I decided to read it first. I'm really into monsters and my classroom library reflects it. This book is nice and not intimidating (short). The photographs are intriguing, as are the illustrations. The author describes the history of the cryptids, as well as the legends, lies, and outright frauds. Overall it's well-balanced. It also goes beyond the traditional critters to some f the lesser known. It lets the reader know that cryptids are [...]

I remember when Oliver went for some job interview and forgot to bring a copy of this book from home for the interview and so ran to the store to BUY his own book and the only copy had a ripped page, so he ran to another store, found one and bought it, then got to the interview, the interview guy wanted the copy for his kid and Oliver got home exhausted, opened up his manpurse and discovered that he actually had packed a copy. Murphy's Frakking Law!!! ;)

it was not that good of of a book considering it should have been longer some of the monster facts are incorrect but theres more to like than to loathe in this booke author did have a good choice of monsters such as chupacabra, jersey devil, beast of gevaudan, owlman, champy, ogopogo, sasquatch and yowie.i also like that he featured other monsters instead of just the most famous ones like bigfoot or nessie

A fun "nonfiction" book with really nice illustrations. The tone is just believing enough, but also admits hoaxes. And it describes way more cryptids than I've ever heard about.

I'm skipping around and reading about the monsters that interest me. I read about Nessie last night.
