This Curious George book is a derivative work based on a teleplay based on a children's picture book classic character. It feels so far removed that its actually kind of fresh in a way. As I sit and read this to my 3 year old, it terrifies me that he is going to play monkey see - monkey do with this. In this case any day now I can expect him to dump grape juice all over the carpet, mix multiple soaps into it (dangerous by the way), stick the garden hose through the house window, flood the living [...]
Stephen Krensky, Curious George Cleans Up (Houghton Mifflin, 2007)Krensky's “cine-manga”-style adaptation of another Curious George TV episode (viz. review of Curious George Takes a Trip, above) at least does a better—much, much better—job at keeping pace with the episode it's adapting, but once again I couldn't help feeling they would have done better to make these twenty-four page books forty-eight and add a bit more of the episode in. Curious George books are simple life lessons (usually) for young children. If ever you don't know what book to pick up to read to your child you can't go wrong with a Curious George book. And generally there is a book to cover just about any situation your child is going through. I read Curious George books as a yo [...]

Of course the mess was an accident and George tries cleaning it up, and being the George we all know he brings the hose in the house in trying to do so. George makes a bigger mess in trying to clean the original mess, I think that the theme would be best described as asking for help. When I was reading the book, I asked the young boy I was reading it to if he would ask for help. This book is best for young childre [...]
'Curiously', this book matches up with the only modern televised episode of Curious George I've seen. I will say that I found the book slightly less annoying than the television show, but that was mainly because my Kindergarten Kid could read most of it by himself.
