it was okay, calling the main guy cousin at the start really threw me off thoughe story was a little cliched and there were some plot holes it seemed like all the characters with magic were a bit overpowered for the time that had lapsed since discovering their powers
Loved these books can't wait for the next one. The twist on how they get their powers isUnique and I love the way they all fit together. I love the way the girls relate to each other separately and together
Second in the series. Quick, enjoyable read.
Epic seriesThis entire series is so captivating thus far. The story has elements to it that have been done over and over again, but the twist that A.L. Knorr adds to them keep everything fresh and exciting. I cannot wait for the next installment!
I love this series. It gets better with every book, and I can't wait to see what she does with Born of Æther.
My second read in the Origins of Elements series and I was entranced with Georgie story. The relationship between Georgie and her mother had been mentioned in Born of Water but reading it from the girl point of view gave it a new impact. After that it was nice to meet Faith and I started to wonder how the adopted cousin of Georgie would be like.I was not anticipating that Jasher had more than one secrets. I liked that the town would turn out to be like a big puzzle where hints would be hidden in [...]
Of all the things I could possibly say about this book, the biggest one is probably "read this!"Oh my goodness. This is such a great story. It is full of unique magic and mythology. It has a protagonist I love. It has something that's hard to find in content. It has excitement and intrigue. It has everything I didn't know I was looking for in a story. The market is saturated with YA fantasy books, but I assure you this one is unique and stands head and shoulders above most of them. The only compla [...]
Well written, good addition to the seriesI have just gone back and left reviews on the other parts of this series which I don't typically do so you can guess that I enjoyed these books. This entry is almost as good as the first, Born in Water, due to excellent world-building and good story outline. There is, however, a lot happening in this book so the plot swings to the next event before you have time to assimilate the information, which I didn't like. Maybe fewer plot points and a bit more dev [...]
A magical story full of wonder and aweThis is a magical story full of wonder and awe. I loved Ms Knorr’s description of the birth of the fairies and how they recognized Georjie as a ‘Wise’. It felt very ethereal. As Georjie learns more about her ancestry, she finds the All was not beautiful and good. But she learns how to turn bad to good and heal not only Jasher and his ‘da’ but also her relationship with her own mom. Again Ms Knorr’s description of how Georjie accomplished this was [...]
A story of forgiveness and love.I enjoyed this YA story about a 17 year old girl learning not only about her family heritage, but also about forgiveness and intent. This was an easy, enjoyable beach read. Georjayna goes to Ireland to stay with her aunt and adopted cousin Jasher for the summer. There she learns about the Faye and their connection to her family. She becomes "Wise", an earth elemental. When she returns home, she realizes that she and her friends attend a high school situated on ley [...]
Clap your hands if you believe in fairies; I do!Another great story by A.L. Knorr of a teenage girl's journey to coming into her "elemental" powers and adulthood. This was my favorite story by far, as the imperfections, hardships, and stereotypes overcome by the main character and her love interest, made them more 'real', relatable, and easy to root for. The theme of personal growth, love, forgiveness, and redemption revealed in each book, is at its heartwarming best in this installment of the s [...]
Rich and impactful storyA.L. Knorr follows up BORN OF FIRE with Georjayna's story. Set in a small town in Ireland, the story introduces existence of the Fae, and weaves in an Ages-old role that select humans play in their world. Rich both in heritage discovery and personal growth, the Georjie introduced in BORN OF WATER is a far cry from the mature young woman who finishes this story. A must read.
Amazing! This book was so captivating that I finished it within a day! This is one of my new favorite series! I can wait to read the rest. The way the different characters all come together and how all of their stories are starting to overlap one another is awesome. You start to get close to each girl and you just can wait until all of them are together and finally spill their guts to each other. Can’t wait!❤️ this series!
So good!I'm really loving this series abundant wait for all the girls to reunite and continue the adventure. I really want to know what will happen to them next. I loved learning more about Georgie and the relationship she has with her mother. The plot twists were also unexpected and amazing! If you like fae, nature, Irish lore, and a touch of romance, this is right up your alley. On to the next!
Outstanding!!!I just finished reading Born of Earth and like the other two Elemental Origins Novels Born of Water and Born of Fire, it grabbed me by the hand and took me on a wonderful trip that I didn't want to end. The characters were so real that they could have stepped off the page and become apart of my world and I would have welcomed them both with both with open arms. I hope to see more of Georjayna and Mashed in the future.
Digging deep into Celtic elememtal lore!Well thanks to a dreary rainy day, I couldn't put this one down! Clean and earthy with a fae touch I really enjoyed reading this storyline. Well put together and vividly brought to life by a fine tale spinner. Can't wait for the next in the series.
Great read!!I Didn't get bored with an overabundance of words, ie over descriptive narrative. I love stories that take place in Ireland and have a magical twist. Just seems appropriate. Went through a lot of tissues. Tears of deep sadness and tears of joy. Anyone e who likes a bit of fame in there tea, er story, should definitely read this book.
5 stars good!!!Loved it!!! Awesome story with awesome characters and a very interesting plot. It was magical! I loved the little romance and how it wasn't too gooey or instant, it was just perfect in my opinion. This is a clean read and safe for young readers. Definitely will recommend to all my reading friends.
ExcellentLove this series. It is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I can't wait to read about the next adventure the group goes on. And what will they tell each other when they come together again.
Wow! I loved it. This was well written. The characters are lovable and realistic. The book is clean enough for any age reader. The worldview isn’t too far out to be enjoyed by a Christian.
WowBeautiful story I have to admit that this book had me looking at flights to Ireland lol you wrote it so well that in my mind i could envision the land and the faeries with such detailank you for this beAutiful adventure
These books are a nice quick read. I'm enjoying how this series is so interconnected but yet each book is individualized. Yes, there are cliches and are often predictable but you're always hit with a little twist.
Love the IrishI can't get over how much history you covered in this book, the details and the people you wrote about all blended till it works, looking forward to the next in series
Born of EarthI am not much into fantasy reading but this one caught my eye. It is well written and fun to read. It brings you into the world of Fae and magic. It's fun and whimsical. Thanks for sharing your story, A.L.
Another fabulous readI'm enjoying the he'll out of this series. Each one is separate but linked. They are also each different but the same. I'm so happy I stumbled on this series. On to the next.
I loved Born of Earth! I think this is my favorite of the first three books in the awesome series, but I love them all. Sweetly romantic, as well as having a perfect amount of action and danger. Don't miss it.
Truly amazing book. I loved this book by Knorr and would highly recommend reading it.
SightI thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. Unique and thought provoking, it is a thoughly enjoyable book. It rates number1!
This is the first book in the series. I love the elemental side of it, and that it brings all her friends into play one way or another. A book I could get lost in.
An entertaining story of young love and faeries.
