A novella prequel to the Lamentation's End series, this story focuses on Veen and his journey before we meet him in Opprobrium. Rich in details and emotions, this story is a very satisfying tale of one of my favorite characters from this series. The story is, once again, filled with vivid imagery, detailed history, and moments of hilarity and sadness. A perfect companion piece to this lovely fantasy world.
