I received this in exchange for an honest review via Giveaways. Thank you to the author, Samantha Priestley, and the publisher, Folded Word, for the opportunity. This was deceptively dark, poignant and symbolic for such a short read. It measures in at just 80 pages and yet manages to convey the message and feeling of a much longer text. It was a broodingly atmospheric read, which was heightened by the simple but stunning illustrations, and both worked together to touch me on an emotional level. [...]

*I received this book as part of a giveaway*Despite this only being a short story, this had the feel of a bigger book. By the end I was empathising with the feelings of the main character and what they are going through. Together with the illustrations it all added depth to this book.I'm not going to reveal much, as this will spoil the flow and understanding of this little story.

A short story made up of interconnecting flash fiction pieces that leaves a large hole behind it.This has a feeling of desperation and sadness that oozes from the page and bores into your very being
