A highly enjoyable, tautly told tale. A man under attack through no fault of his own is drawn into a complicated fraud and blackmail case that results in two murders in which he is the prime suspect.Set in the context of the importance of ratings and career advancement in the television industry, the plot becomes tensely complex, leading to a fine ending in which all is revealed. The beleaguered hero astutely observed at the denouement that all the diverse characters involved in nefarious doings [...]

Snappy humor, spunky spelunking, and special writingI recommend this book to mystery readers who delight in having some fun in what they are reading. This is the first time I have read a book by DeAndrea and I look forward to reading more by this author. Special note, if you love the English-language you will find the comments Matt mutters to himself the cherry on top of your reading pleasure.

So-so some dialogue was clever , but overall just so-so might read next in series if no other book is available at that time

(Mystery, Vintage) I found reference to this series in Old-Time Detection, a thrice-yearly publication written and published by Arthur Vidro of Claremont NH, and I was able to purchase the Kindle version of the series’ first book.Written and set in the 1980s, it’s a peek into corporate culture in the pre-cell phone, pre-Internet days. It’s also a look behind the scenes in the television industry.Matt Cobb, network executive, deals with literally deadly office politics. It’s reasonably we [...]

This is an older book that I picked up on Kindle and really enjoyed. Matt Cobb works as a trouble shooter for a major television network in NYC.He gets involved in an extremely convoluted case that could seriously damage the network There are more in this series and I shal definitely search them out.

Interesting, quick read about the television industry involving murder and intrigue with the smart aleck Cobb working to get to the bottom of it all. I especially enjoyed the quotes from old TV shows at the beginning of each chapter.

Early Bird Books-I Book-$1.99 Cobb is a little like Archie in the Nero Wolfe books. I would recommend this book to readers who like mysteries. 3 1/2 stars
