No bias here. *whistles with hands in pockets*
This is a true and touching tale of a couple, James and Rachelle, who tried to get over with their troubled past and find meaning of their life in each other, in God. There is time in your life when you struggle to cope with reality and find everything meaningless. Life seems a drag, and that's what happens with James, when he was imprisoned for taking drugs and thought about killing himself. But a verse from the bible showed him the way and he came out strong. Although, he found his old acquain [...]
This is a fictional read directed toward the Christian audience. It deals with the struggles of a young couple within their marriage, within their family (as new parents) and then it guides us through a large trouble they face with a sham adoption of a child in Haiti. This story touched my heart because I myself am a firm Believer. I may be bias because of that but hey, I have to represent the faith. I appreciate a good Christian read every now and then. I can be particularly choosey because som [...]
The main characters' life goes down the drain through his own lack of character/spine. A story happening a million of times all around us. What makes it special is that he finds God and with a the help of a friend, that does turn away from him, gets another chance to happiness. It gets a bit melodramatic when he blows that too. Again with the help of God there is a happy ending (not a spoiler, this is not a thriller). The book reads well, it is only 80 pages. At the end i have still 1 big questi [...]
This is a touching story about a couple's ordeal with adoption of a child from Haiti. But, the story begins well before that. The author shows the story behind the story. How they met, the difficulties they had in their marriage, and the problems they had with an adoption agency. Through it all, both husband and wife were to blame for the trials they went through, each one at one point falling away from what God wanted for their lives. True healing came only when they trusted in God and made goo [...]
I received this book via the giveaway. When I entered the giveaway, I didn't know it was a christian short story. I'm not a religious woman, so when I received the book I didn't know what to think about it. I have never read a christian book before, but it was a short story and I like those one so I decide to give it a shot. I was amazingly surprise. I really enjoyed reading it. Of course the religion is really present, but as a none religious person it didn't bother me at all. I recommend this [...]
