Once again, “Evil lurks within…”, although fifteen years on the stakes are raised as Laura and Ben Fieldstone face a secret alien community with the powers that they confronted in Book 1. Their son, Charlie, has inherited his mother’s alien powers and from early on in the story, the reader wonders which path he will choose – his parents or the community that offers him so much more. His feeling of being different is akin to the alienation so many youngsters feel, and Donna Galanti port [...]
When we left Laura and Ben in A Human Element, we thought that they would have their HEA. In the follow up, A Hidden Element, we a thrust 15 years in the future. Laura and Ben had their baby. So life should be grand, right? Well, their son Charlie is not your typical 14 year old. He looks different then the other kids and he has powers that he tries to keep hidden. In Hidden Element, the enemy is someone connected to Laura and Charlie. Someone from Elyon.I enjoyed reading about the continuing st [...]
Book two in this dark paranormal world picks up a few years after we first meet the power couple Ben and Laura. A Human Element (Book 1) does a great job of laying down the foundation of this trilogy. These books are not by any means for the faint of heart. They are dark and twisted, with intense sexual situations, torture and abuse. So be warned up front, if you can't handle this type of story. While it's not my cup of Chai tea, I did get into the story. Donna casts a deeper look into her chara [...]
It started with the fateful meeting of two young people, Ben and Laura. Now they’re all grown up and have a teenage son, Charlie.Charlie is different from other teens. Some of these differences are subtle ones on the outside. It’s on the inside that the differences are huge.In another place, Caleb rebels against his father. He’s not interested in his father’s breeding plans. He wants out. But his father won’t let him go. Caleb witnesses his father’s cruelty towards humans. How he con [...]
Good vs EvilExcellent story telling at it's finest. Strong character's who fight to survive a cruel dictator. A family determined to love and survive and gain acceptance in a new world. Two thumbs up!
Before I could read “A Hidden Element,” I had to reread “A Human Element” (book 1) as I couldn’t really remember the entire story, and I’m so glad I did. I loved it even more the second round as it’s an amazing story. I’m just sorry it took me so long to get to book 2, which picks up fifteen years from where we left off in book 1. Ben and Laura are loving and caring parents to fourteen year-old Charlie, with another one on the way. This is dark and violent story of good vs. evil, [...]
So this hidden civilization is using the human race to build their numbers. They have the ability to read and control peoples mind. Caleb's father is the leader and evil. He wants to be horrible to people to activate their destroyer gene. Laura and her family have a son who has this gene and is being manipulated. Caleb can't take his father anymore and decides to help Laura and her family. It was a good book. Different from what I have read before. Some things were explained a little to much and [...]
After reading A Human Element I looked forward to the next book in the series. I wasn't disappointed. A Hidden Element was just as exciting, bringing us the supernatural, love story we enjoyed. Great read!
I really enjoyed this box. It was a fast read with interesting characters. I received a free copy of this book. This review is my opinion.
I really got interested in the characters and was rooting for them. Loved Caleb! I am just not used to reading something this graphic.
I loved A Human Element by Donna Galanti, so to continue the story in A Hidden Element was a no brainer. This is Book II of the trilogy, which contains a mish mash of genres: science fiction, mystery, thrills and romance.A Hidden Element does fill in some of the story from A Human Element, but for the full effect I recommend starting with Book I.I knew bad stuff was coming and I was afraid for Charlie. He is an innocent, but will he be swayed to the dark side? Some of the aliens want to just live [...]
A battle between good and evil, between love and hatred. You'll have to wait until the very end to figure out which side wins. Charlie and Caleb are characters you can cheer for and against. There are tender moments that make you want to cry. There are frightening moments that make you want to hide under the covers. This is a rip-roaring adventure full of vivid characters and settings. A wonderful follow-up to A Human Element.
