*She wasn’t meant to survive. He wasn’t meant to save her. Now, they are determined to correct his mistake. *There is a lot that can be said about Riddle of Fate. It had a lot of aspects I love in a good paranormal book. There was magic, angels of death (also known as collectors), and poltergeists; how could anyone turn down a book with those kinds of elements? I really enjoyed Khaya's character; she seemed a little naive at times and was way too trusting of people but I liked her. I think s [...]
This review is also available here: fangirlsreaditfirst.wordpressFirst off a big thank you to author Tania Johansson for allowing me to read and give an honest review of her novel, Riddle of Fate.Khaya is part of a group of people with special abilities working for The Company. She tells the future for them. But Khaya becomes a liability when she discovers she’s developed another ability, because anyone in Company history with two abilities has gone crazy and even murderous. As Khaya starts to [...]
Khaya is living her life as normal as one can while using her power of foretelling. As she continues working for the company a new ability forms, and she then is hunted. Unsure why things are happening she goes on the run with the mysterious Derrin who knows more than he is letting on. Can they figure out how to fix this, or is she doomed to be terminated?WOW!!!! This book!!! So fantastic! It started off and hooked me immediately. And from there it only got better and better. Honestly this book [...]
My Thoughts:This was a very interesting book for me. I loved the paranormal aspect, blended together with the little romance that buds during the book. I also like the theme and setting of the book.Very swiftly on, in the book, our main character finds herself in a bad situation. She has found that she has a secondary ability and knows that this will spell disaster for her. The Company will be after her, as they say she is unstable and dangerous. On the run, she meets up with someone who many be [...]
*I was provided a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for sharing my honest thoughts on it, so that’s what you’ll be getting!*I knew I had to read this book when I read the synopsis and it said : “The Company.” How vague and curiosity inducing is that? This book has a great start and the author immediately swept me into the world of her characters. Khaya was a likable character, in fact she’s totally kickass, and Derrin was the same. For some reason, he often reminded me of Cas [...]
*I received this book for review from the author, this in no way affects my thoughts expressed in this review*When I opened up to the first page of Riddle of Fate I was immediately drawn in. This book is told in alternating points of view between Khaya and Derrin, starting off with Derrin.Khaya lives an ordinary life with a few exceptions. One is that she has the ability to predict future events by reading things from newspapers, articles, etc and then transferring the things she senses onto pap [...]
Well this is truly another hit in my book of reviews! The author Tania Johnasson really keeps the pace going in this book. Also Johnasson gives the reader plenty of twists to the plot! Having the twists in the plot keeps the reader having tons of fun. For me that is important, having fun reading helps to keep my interest. Not only that but the book helps the reader see a character evolve with true spunk! I rate this book 5 stars and recommend for all those that love a true plot twister!* I was g [...]
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review when I signed up for the book tour.I really enjoyed reading this book and the storyline moved along smoothly. I quickly found myself falling in love with the mysteious Derrin who was willing to do anything and everything for the one that he loved. It did however take me a bit to like Khaya simply because at first I found her to be so damn naive but she became an amazing and strong character who had to face obstacles and she did it by growing a ba [...]
Really enjoy this one! Kept my interest from beginning to the end! Khaya works for the Company, she has a power; but now she just might have 2! Is that possible, what will happen if someone finds out. Derrin is a Collector, he has been keeping track of Khaya for years because he has a special connection with her.y Khaya has no idea who this man who suddenly appears from no where to protect her. This is a good one! Highly recommend.
Riddle of Fate was a fantasy/paranormal novel which I enjoyed… but didn’t love. It’s definitely readable and the storyline is good, although it has several gaps which I was left wondering about – possibly would be explained in a sequel, but I wasn’t gripped and actually ended up leaving it halfway through for a break. To give the book credit due, I did pick it back up and finished it which I wouldn’t have done if I didn’t like it.
awesome book for the most part. full review coming soon. but will say I enjoyed this stand alone book. no dreadful cliffhanger so loved that too.
