The formula is beginning to wear thin.
Effective reading primer. Causes lots of giggles.
This book is more lyrical than the others in the series, and there's a fun twist at the end that my two-year-old thinks is hilarious.

Baby Duck has just arrived at the farm and all the animals are eager to welcome her until she refuses to go to sleep. Why I started this book: I love Cronin, and eagerly await any book from her.Why I finished it: The book was clever and fun, but I thought that the adults would smile the most at this book until the surprise end. The kids will love the end.
Another of Cronin and Lewin's classic Click, Clack book. I liked the simple text and cute pictures in this one. I could successfully use this in my preschool program. The story line is entertaining and parents will certainly identify with this story.
The last spread is the best part. Otherwise, eh.
The farm animals of Farmer Brown are bustling with excitement as they anticipate the hatching of a duck egg. But, that excitement soon changes to exhaustion as the animals must find a way to get the baby duck to stop “peeping” so they can get some rest. As usual, the animal’s success comes with a funny twist and surprise for Farmer Brown. This book is recommended for ages 4 - 8, preschool - third grade. The farm has a new baby, but he’s keeping the Whole farm awake! What is Farmer Brown going to do? ••• This was cute. My kids love this Click Clack series and this one was no different. Not as thrilling as typing cows or spooky ducks, but a fun ride all the same.

Cute. But the sudden tense change at the end bugged me.
solid entry in the click clack set.
Farmer Brown has got a new animal on his farm, as a tiny, little duckling pops out of his shell. All the animals are in awe, until it won't go to bed. All they hear is "Peep peep peep!" all night long. When all the animals get tire of this new little duckling's peeps, they head outside to try to get some shut eye. When the duckling's daddy takes his earmuffs off, he acknowledges the problem and knows exactly how to fix it. He places the earmuffs on Farmer Brown's head so he doesn't hear the duck [...]
Click, Clack, Peep by Doreen Cronin is a book that takes place on a farm. A new duck was born at the farm and everyone is trying to go to sleep and this new baby duck is just peeping away. The two parent ducks are trying so hard to keep the baby duck asleep. It seems like they have tried everything they can possibly think of when finally one of the ducks takes the tractor out and puts the baby duck in the back of the tractor and drives it all along the farm. The baby duck ends up falling asleep [...]
Click clack Peep what a fun name for a book. This book shows the struggles every parent human or not goes through in taking are of their own. This story depicts a little chick who does simply just not want to go to bed. The little chick is being loud and being hyper yelling Peep, Peep, Peep, disrupting all the other animals on the farm so the parent duck takes matters into their own hands. The parent duck will do anything for their little chick to fall asleep, and that's exactly what we see in t [...]
This story begins when all of the animals are quiet on the farm. They are waiting for an egg to hatch. A little duck is born when the egg hatches and things get chaotic. The little duck would not stop peeping. Little Duck’s mom tries everything to get Little Duck to fall asleep but nothing works. Eventually, Duck tears up the entire farm by driving a tractor over it just to put Little Duck to sleep. The illustrator shows emotions through the faces on the animals. When Little Duck is repeatedly [...]
Click, Clack, Peep! by Doreen Cronin brings back the characters from Click, Clack, Moo: Cows that Type and puts them into a whole new situation. The duck, who was simply a minor character in the beginning of the first book but then came out as the comic wise guy in the end, has had a baby, and this annoying little chick, although cute, has annoyed pretty much all the barn animals past their limits. Laying low in the beginning, the duck comes in at the end once again to save the day.Like typical [...]
Instead of giving Farmer Brown a hard time, the new arrival of a baby ducks gives the cows a run for their money. A delivery truck drops off a quiet batch of eggs. Once the babies hatch, there was a surprise for the cows. The little baby duck refused to go to sleep, worse then that, the duck keeps chirping “Peep, peep, peep!” This peeping was keeping everyone on the farm awake. After a couple days of exhaustion, the cows come up with an idea to get the baby duck asleep. In the process of gett [...]
Click, Clack, Peep, by Doreen Cronin is a story that takes place on a farm. The illustrations and text show how the farm animals and Farmer Brown are dealing with a new Baby Duck. The farm animals are all very quit as they wait for the egg to hatch. After the duck is out of its’ shell the farm animals lives become very noisy. The new Baby Duck will not go to sleep or take a break from saying peep. Mother Duck has had enough and borrows Farmer Brown’s tractor to drive with Baby Duck so the ba [...]
Click, Clack, Peep! is such a sweet and fun story for younger aged children. Doreen Cronin is a wonderful children's book writer. She really knows how to capture humor and tenderness in the same story. This book is a great story for new siblings or parents because it really gives a hint into the life with a baby around. Click, Clack, Peep! gives the reader something to smile about and definitely relate to. The illustrations of this story are well done and the same style that Cronin's other books [...]
First published on my blog, Nine Pages.Cronin’s Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type has been fairly successful, frequently being displayed in various places in Barnes & Noble. This latest edition to the series takes on a far more relatable and age-appropriate topic, I think, than did this first book of Cronin’s, which I found a little too bureaucratic in its subject. In this, a new duckling is born on the farm, and like a child sometimes, he will not be quiet and will not sleep, so the ani [...]
If you were to ask your readers how many have ridden on a wagon pulled by a tractor, depending on your location, you might receive a favorable response. When asked how many have had the pleasure of actually riding on the tractor your numbers will probably diminish. Factoring in their ages the amount who have actually driven a tractor will be even less. Having done all three myself, I can say in all honesty, after the third option, with the broken barn door as evidence, I was delegated to the ope [...]
Summary: This book is about Farmer Brown and his farm animals watching a duck egg hatch. The baby duck doesn't stop peeping all day and night even with all the animals help! Eventually duck drives the baby duck in the tractor destroying the farm, but baby duck finally falls asleep. Review: I love this book and I think it's a great resource to use in the classroom. This book is wonderful with a humorous storyline. The students will love to listen to this book and make predictions on how they thin [...]
