This graphic novel didn't make much sense to me, perhaps it would have been better if I had read the first volume? Anyway, there where a lot of jumps between now and then, very confusing, a lot of characters showing up in the story with no explanation to whyI managed to finish Coffin Hill 2 but I can't say I'm any wiserhell I wonder if I would have been much wiser even if I had read the first volume1 star Thank you Random House and Edelweiss for providing me with a free copy for an honest review [...]

The artwork in Coffin Hill is great and the overall plot is very creepy, but the constant flashbacks really muddy the story and left me very confused. Volume two ends with a new plot thread that left me even more confused. Not sure if I will continue with this series.

Just terrible.Poorly executed flashback sequences made it all the more confusing :(

This is the second volume in the Coffin Hill graphic novel series, and the art continues to be good, the story interesting, and I really like the local (Boston area) setting. However, there are even more timelines and flashbacks in this volume, and it is sometimes hard to keep it all straight, and I for one have no idea what that ending was all about. Still, I liked it enough that I'll continue with the series. If you are in the mood for a paranormal horror (is there any other kind?) story with m [...]

Two different stories running back and forth made for a very annoying reading experience and I can see how some people would get confused reading this. Having read the first volume will help to understand the "present day" story, but they should have been separated out and told on their own. The story structure really hurt this.

Pretty good follow up to volume 1! So the first volume focused mostly on the present and a little bit in the past through flashbacks; this volume its the complete opposite. I can't really talk about the present parts without spoiling volume 1 so I'll focus on the past. This volume they finally explain the whole Ice Fisher serial killer thing they hinted to in volume 1 and I enjoyed; good old fashioned cop story! We also get see more of Eve Coffin's powers and her using witchcraft! Caitlin Kittre [...]

A nice follow up, tho I was a little bit confused on some points. Especially with all the flashback happening. But still I enjoyed reading it.

3.5

There's black magic lurking in Coffin HillWow. Coffin Hill Vol. 2: Dark Endeavors was considerably better than Coffin Hill Vol. 1: Forest of the Night !I enjoyed the layout of images a lot more than the first one as well. There is still some confusion in terms of characters for me but you can get by not knowing them off by heart. This Vol. collects the issues that explain a bit about Eve's experience as a rookie cop. So essentially it seems like the author is moving from back to front. It works f [...]

If you liked the first volume, I think you'll like this one as well. It's a lot like the first one. Lots of beautiful artwork! It gives you more of a peek into the past on things that happened that led up until now. As with the first one, there are a lot of flashbacks and different storylines going on so it can be a bit confusing. Still enjoyable though. Ready for the next volume!

The page layouts proved easier to follow this time and there were a few moments I liked but this series still hasn't won me over. All the flash backs and flash forwards muddled the story, making it hard to keep things straight. There were also several times the dialogue felt misplaced or irrelevant. What in the hell was with that comment about the Pixies? The only thing I enjoyed was the last part set in the 1970's. Without that flashback this would be getting 2 stars. Since there is only one mor [...]

I was really sorry that this second arc didn't measure up to the first. There was a lot of stuff going on in multiple time frames which combined with a few character designs (the younger witch looked almost identical to Eve's friend/s in the first book) added to my overall confusion. All that said the final story was fantastic and Iñaki Miranda's crisp art style is always a pleasure. Hoping that volume 3 returns to the standard of vol 1.

I am very interested in the plot, unfortunately the author does not seem to be. Why carry a plot, and then in the final issue switch to a completely different story without any kind of transition or reason? The alternate plot also seems interesting, but the pacing seriously needs some work.Love the art though. Tasteful gore is so hard to find these days.

Coffin Hill Vol. 2 sandwiches itself around Vol. 1. Part of the tale is how Eve Coffin stopped the Ice Fisher serial murder, then got herself shot. Eve Coffin is now in prison for shooting another cop, but needs to get out to save some young witches from a band of witch hunters. Unexpected help is provided. I am interested in seeing what happens in the next volume!

Just a phenomenal story, that's dark, twisted and perfectly scary. The artwork is beautifully drawn and allows the reader to get so much from each frame. They try something different with some of the layouts that I truly appreciated. Overall I love this book

Ooooh, Eve, you should have seen that coming! Where will this story go next?

Much better than the first volume!

This series is brilliant. I can't wait for the next volume. Great writing. Great art and color.

I liked the flashback-y flow of the narrative in this one. Excited to learn more about the witches of coffin hill and the mystery of the dark magic that belongs to the coffin family.

They're not holding back on the creepy murders. But I remain a little confused as to the story. I seem to have that problem with some graphic novels.

What a cliffhanger of an ending! The second arc in Kittredge's Coffin Hill series is more thriller and less horror than volume one but outstanding just the same.

I like the art, the story is intriguing, although the back and forth in time aspect of its telling confused me a bit.

Review Coming Soon.

I don't know how I feel about this series. It keeps jumping from past to present and it throws me off each time.

This series is gruesome and fun.

I disliked the first book, but thought the story was interesting enough to give it a second chance. My bad. The plot is incoherent, the characters made of cardboard, and the horror phoned in. Alas :(
