I like how Julie jumped in to take care of the kids while her brother and wife, Joey and Mari, went on a much needed vacation. I wondered how could she, a single person, take care of 5 children under 6 years old. Wow! Well with help from Noah, she did it. She wanted to do all the Christmas decorations, but Noah thought the church may not like that. She bought lots of decorations for the tree, but the kids wanted to put their homemade ornaments on the tree.Cute book. Cute!
This story is kinda funny and cute, but not that great overall. I couldn't relate to the characters at all and didn't even like them very much. And the relationship between Noah and Julie didn't really seem genuine either. I don't know, it just felt kinda forced to me.I did really like the part of the story about trusting God wholly.
The title comes from the fact that one of the nephews calls his aunt his "Christmas Mommy" when he and his 4 siblings are left in her care while his parents take a trip to the Holy Land that was gifted to them just before Christmas. (I believe they return on Christmas Day.) The aunt struggles with feeling beholden to her brother because he dropped everything to raise her when their parents died. She also struggles with feeling abandoned (because her parents died, her brother and his family moved [...]
An OK Christian Read. I wasn't so impressed with the leads. Noah and Julie were supposedly in love when Noah took a assistant pastor's position in North Carolina at the church where Julie's brother Joey is head pastor. Julie the female lead had issues with Noah, who is an aspiring pastor leaving Denver without discussing with his plans with her. Noah apparently assumed she understood he expected her to follow him there. My main three points are: Julie sounds like a crybaby and Noah feels like a [...]
What a fun story!Babysitting five small children for a couple weeks? Talk about diving headfirst into on-the-job training, which is exactly what Julie does. Thankfully she has her boyfriend to help, albeit the boyfriend she feels deserted her, and is slightly peeved at. Can love possibly find its way through all the chaos?
Very enjoyable!Although at the beginning of the book, I found myself wanting to strangle Julie (or knock some sense into her), I enjoyed watching Julie "grow" throughout this story. Noah was very likeable and so were "those little darlings" Julie was tasked with watching. I do recommend this story.
Did not really like the main characters
Just a really sweet story for the Christmas season. Light hearted and fun.
This is really a quite humorous book. If you've ever been around a passel of kids, you'll be able to relate to Julie's adventures. I like how she found herself in all of the hub bub of taking care of five children while her brother and sister-in-law take a vacation. Then throw preparing for Christmas in the mix, and the fun begins. If you are totally turned off by "preachy" books, then this book is not for you. And I'm sorry about that. Because if you are turned off by that, it means you need it [...]
I have mixed feelings in regards to this book. While it was a good story there a few things that bothered me. The way Noah was shown makes him not very likely fora big part of the book. His judgmental attitude towards Julie is what gives Christians a bad name. Also politics in church are not as this book showed. Being a preacher's kid these issues stood out to me. While it was a good story those things affected how I felt about the book as a whole.
This plot to this love story involves a young woman watching her 5 nieces and nephews for 2 weeks with some help from an ex-boyfriend. As Julie and Noah seek God's will for their relationship and lives, the kids wreak havoc, but in a cute way. Sweet, but almost too sweet.
The problem I had with this book was I didn't come to like any of the characters and found it slow and boring and too much wineing. Aunt agrees to watch nieces and nephews over Christmas Holiday with help from local pastor and former love. Skim, skip, skim, skip Done.
Christmas MommyNow this was a really awesome story. So tired of books being the same. This was different and didn't find it boring at all! I recommend this at anytime of the yearbut is a good story for Christmas.
Funny! Julie Dennis is in charge of her brother's 5 kids while he and his wife go away on a trip. She enlists the help of her left behind boyfriend noah Loughlin to help with the kids.
EbookShe's going to babysit her brothers 5children the week before Christmas. Her brother is a minister and her old boyfriend is his assistant, what could go wrong?
Delightful.Terry Fowler did a great job of including me in Christmas Mommy. Charming children with innocent antics added reality and depth. A fun and enjoyable read.
I gave up on this one. I didn't like Julie, the main gal.
