Full review also found here!Hunter's Moon is a truly excellent audio drama. The audio production oozes with quality, making it easy to immerse oneself in Guy Haley's gripping narrative.Unlike its accompanying drama, Thief of Revelations by Graham McNeill, Hunter's Moon is being told from the perspective of a normal man, who gets involved in an engagement between Space Wolves and Alpha Legion. This choice of perspective generally does a lot of good to the story, moving to a respectful distance fr [...]
Fantastic audio! The best about the Wolves! Cause the lapdogs died all ;) In general a standard story for the Alpha Legion and non-standard for the Wolves. Due to the overpowered image of SW created by BL it is refreshing to see the wolves not just humbled - but totally duped! And that's all thanks to the talent of Guy Haley ;)
As it is easy to fall into the trap of telling the saga of the Horus Heresy purely from the perspective of the trans-human warriors that fought the vast majority of the conflict, this story takes a refreshing change from the norm by showing us the perspective of normal men, and not just men but civilians. Here we see a fishing vessel and it's crew on a backwater-ocean world. With this different approch we get to see the thoughts and viewpoints of so-called "ordinary people", there lack of underst [...]
Audio dramas (not audio books, there’s a difference) are a relatively late addition to the Black Library stable, but have nevertheless become an established format, especially within the Horus Heresy series where there are now more than 20 of varying lengths. Guy Haley’s second, Hunter’s Moon, is a 35-minute piece available either as a standalone MP3 download or in CD format accompanied by Thief of Revelations, by Graham McNeill. It concerns the Space Wolves of the Vlka Fenryka, specifical [...]
Very interesting audio drama!I really like when we get to see normal people, especially people from a backwater planet get involved in the HH. It also answers the question of what happened to the Space Wolves that were supposed to be standing watch over the Alpha Legion's Primarch, and the kind of confusion that can be sown with the whole Alpharius thing.Very interesting short. I wonder if we will ever see that ocean planet again?
Always fun to read about Alpharius and his children. That they mess around with the Space Wolves is even better! There's some good tension here and the actors are fantastic. my only problem is that the Alpha legion never really schemes or plots in this story. (view spoiler)[they just show up, yells: haha! You didn't kill the real me! And then leaves again (hide spoiler)]
A great little story told from a different perspective , which I felt was quite refreshing in the audio stories.Highly recommend that you listen to this gem
