I was reading the author's description of her writing style and it states that her books are often quirky. That is spot on for this book! Quirky!! It's about Veronica or Ronnie, a teacher, who travels to Storafalt, Wyoming to take over the teaching of some kids who live on a ranch. Talk about culture shock. Ronnie is from North Carolina and is biracial. She is stuck in the middle of nowhere with no easy access to her usual beauty and health care products and begins to question herself about havi [...]

This heroine pissed me off big time! The only way that I completed the book was to focus on the hero. I was so disappointed by how she handled situations. When there is a big decision that involves two people you should not run away from it. The hero gave her no reason to not trust him. She just was being stupid and immature and that made me so mad. This was my second time reading it, and I had the same feeling.

Teaching the CowboyThis book is absolutely wonderful. I loved every minute of it. From start to finish this book kept me interested. The story was very believable, the interaction between all of the characters felt so real to life. There are a few stories within the main story but it is all about family and family issues. This has been the best book I have read in a long time. I really can't recommend this book enough.

I didn't necessarily like this book overall but I did enjoy the characters even the heroine who for all her supposed smarts was emotionally immature and short sited. What I think kept me reading was the growth of the other characters, specifically the hero.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was just okay, for me, as I found it had far too many other stories in it and I felt that detracted from the main story. Veronica Silver and John Lundstrom are great characters and their story is heartfelt and sincere. Ms. Trent really delivered on this, for me. Sometimes the two of them made me want to slap them upside the head but again, some of that was bleed over from the other stories. The other stories are really goo [...]

I really enjoyed this book. It is a sweet read. Ronnie is a biracial woman who moves to Wyoming from North Carolina to home school kids on 2 ranches. John is one of the Ranch owners and he immediately falls for her and he is not shy in letting her know. Ronnie likes John a lot too, but doesn't want to get serious because she has no intentions of staying in this small town in Wyoming. She has to drive miles in order to get shampoo. I can feel her pain. I am a woman of color and we cannot wash our [...]

This book is one of the best I've read all year. Kudos to the author for blending in the other character's stories without taking away from the main one. The ending was pretty predictable, but I didn't mind in the least because this is one of the first romance novels I've read where the other characters stories didn't feel sowhat's the word? Shallow? Like you get this brief intro to the next character in a series, but there really is no depth to them until you get to their book. This book went d [...]

A year in Storafalt, Wyoming? Veronica Silver a traveling tutor thinks that's no big deal! She needs hands-on experience with a special group of students to qualify for a grant. Ronnie loves a challenge, but being put against a small town’s active grapevine and a woeful lack of amenities, she worries she won’t be able to hack it.With the education system in Storafalt lacking, rancher John Lundstrom thought hiring a private tutor would ease some of his considerable stress. A really nice read. The characters were quirky and carried the story well. It takes a bit to get into the story but once you do your hooked. I wanted to know how it ended but didn't want it to end. It goes into details about the little things you normally wouldn't think of and don't always find in story lines. I though it was sweet with a little sexy thrown in. It is a surprisingly human story that brings a some of the gay & interracial issues you don't always find in books. I loved it & [...]

I liked the author’s voice, especially at the beginning of the book, but this soon changed. Others may like this, but I found the setting with the children boring. Furthermore, I didn’t like the hero: he was far too pushy and I didn't like the way he treated his son. Lastly, the couple didn’t really spend a lot of time together, so apart from having a child together, in the end I couldn’t see why they wanted to be with each otherA The more I think about it, the less I like the hero and t [...]

Wonderful! When Ronnie takes a teaching job in Montana, the last thing she expects is a baby. John had one woman run off on him and his kids, and is cofused and hurt when Ronnie does the same thing. Life is full of compromises, it will take a while, but Ronnie and John will learn that in the end. Beautifully written romance about two people from very different backgrounds learning to love each other. I loved this happily ever after romance!I received this book from the author in exchange for an [...]

Although this book wasn't pitch perfect, it was a captivating read that kept me entertained for about 3 hours on a wonderful Monday afternoon. For me, the characters were quirky, the world building was awesome, and the sex scenes were sensual and not overcooked. The only issues that I had with this book were the following: minor lag, irritating insta-lust, and one or two crimps in the flow of the storyline.Other than that, I loved it!Giving this one: 3.5 stars.

Well, I didn't read it all - it wasn't all that interesting and rather predictable so after trying, I skipped to the last chapter after 14. The ending was exactly as I expected. It could've been wrapped up in half the length. While there was nothing wrong with it and it should've held my interest, it dragged and I got bored

Teaching The Cowboy is my first read by Holley Trent. I enjoyed this well written book. Ms Trent has delivered a lovable cast of characters, drama, humor and sizzle. I look forward to reading more from Holley Trent in the future. Teaching The Cowboy is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.I received a copy of Teaching The Cowboy for review purposes.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 4 1/2 stars.I liked this book a lot. It's not only the romance of John and Ronnie, but a nice helping of other family members also. You really get to know and care about all of the characters. It's a great, well rounded story and I was kind of sad that it was over.

3.5/5.0This is a contemporary romance about a rancher who was burned by love and a teacher who really didn't plan on settling down so soon.Read full review in the 2014 April issue of InD’tale Magazine.

Loved it, loved it. loved it. Watching the cowboy evolve in his relationship and with his family and watching the teacher open like a butterfly was amazing. I highly recommend it. I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Many chuckles while reading this book. It was better than I anticipated. A different kind of alpha male. You have to hang in there with the book. It gets better as you read. I like romance books with humor and this one has it. Quirky is good.

3.5 Stars

This book was different, in a good way. Not a ton of sexy time going on, but it explored a lot about relationships and change. My review is coming soon

Really enjoyed this book. I liked the originality of it and the fact that the problems were realistic.
