Great book! This is the second Gage Hartline book I've read. I liked The Diaries so much, but books about prisons aren't usually my thing. This one was the exception. Great characters and time right plot!
Well, this was definitely no John Rain or Mitch Rapp. The story was, -sigh- I don't know honestly could have started at the jail portion because that's when I became somewhat entertained but all the bad guys were morons. Gage could have been a likable character but he turned out to be a waste. I mean, seriously, you're being hired for a job. A dangerous job and you take time to rescue one hot chic, still not knowing her, set her up in an apartment, give her access to your money and the details o [...]
What a thrilling story! You won't be able to lay this one down til the final page! What a thrilling story! You won't be able to lay this one down til the final page!from the cover artwork/bio I was captured after reading the first few pages. never dull or boring. This fast paced story moved along quickly without descriptive trappings or detail hang ups some writers use for page fluff. the characters whose actions sometimes made me cringe had me sitting on the edge of my seat from the first moment [...]
Gage, a former soldier embarks into his new life. Ernesto Navarro, a gangster in Barcelona, has a task for him and is willing to pay him the world if he accepts to live in Berga Prison for one month to take care of his son, Cesar, imprisoned there for fear that a gang group might want to harm him. The author accurately describes all the horrors lived inside that prison, and Gage finally decides to accept the challenge because that huge sum of money will secure his financial future. No sooner has [...]
Superb 2nd Gage Hartline storyAn excellent follow up to the first. Filled with twists and turns and violence and action, this stand alone novel is an amazing well written story. And boo to the naysayers who complain about a scene or two that might be unbelievable - nowhere does this state that this novel is based on a true story. Loved it. Highly recommended. Start reading it --- you will find it difficult to put down.
Another amazing read from a talent to watch!Chuck Driskell delivers yet another twisty, action-packed story, centring around the very likable Gage Niels Hartline!I deeply admire Mr Driskell's ability to create believable characters and to wove a suspenseful plot around them!Given the fact that this sequel was even better than it's predecessor (The Diaries) I can't wait for the next installment of this formidable series!
Had me on the edge of my seat!I liked the first Gage Hartline book, Diaries, but found the ending very boring and rushed. This book though delivered it all. I hope other readers enjoy this as much as I did. I have already downloaded the next Hartline book and can't wait to get started. Thank you Chuck for both your service to your country and your service to your fans. Keep up the good work! Yours in arms.
Amazing Delivery Again!I rated the book 5 stars because I loved it! Chuck tells a story that keeps the reader glued to see what happens next. Gage is once again dropped into a massive pile of poop and crawls his way out, maybe a little worse for wear but alive and kicking. Keep up the good work! Now on to the next book!!!
"To The Lions" deserves 6 stars, because it is even better than "Demon's Bluff" which I read last year and gave a 5-star rating. If you love fast paced thrillers with the right mix of action, romance and suspense, look no further. Grab a Chuck Driskell title.
Great read!Another Gage Hartline book that I loved. There were parts in the prison that were hard for me to read but at the same time I couldn't put down. Gage is a great character and will draw you deeply into the storyline. More Gage please
The life of Gage is layer after layer of surprise. I read all the time. Thesesituations for Gage, even I could not figure out. I found myself saying ' howis he getting out of this one?' Love this author. Great descriptive scenarios.
Very goodVery goodone small criticism. In the first book it was mentioned that Gave was taught German and Russian. Here he said he new a few Russian phrases. Keep up the good work.
A lot of actionSome of the action was of the super heroes type and a bit beyond belief. I personally thought that the sexual escapades could have been less graphic and detailed
A very good read.Held my attention throughout. An engaging story that pulls the reader into it. Events seem to flow together to the final chapter.
RateI give this book 5 stars, it was a good read. I really loved the characters, The plot played out well and help my interest.
Pretty standard soldier of fortune wannabe novel.
Interesting readI enjoy this type of reads and hope that Mr. Driscoll writes many more of this type and I can find them to read them.
