This was not what I expected at all. You think of psychics and the first thing to come to mind is not the cold war.The story moved so slowly that I put the book aside more than once because it was just not interesting. This is a spy novel with a psychic involved. It has components of a love story as well, though not very well done for my tastes. The premise is that the Russians are using a psychic to make their enemies change sides and gain them the upper hand. The premise of the book was very interesting but it was very slow in the beginning when the main characters were introduced. It was too vague on why so much time was given to a character that wasn't going to play a big role in the story. I almost put it on the shelf a few times but kept truding through. The middle and ending parts were much better but I don't think I will read the rest of the series.

Boring. Or maybe it is just my mood. One star for criticizing the US too, that is pretty rare. Maybe I am just getting old.
