3.5-4 Let Go StarsLife appeared perfect, but doesn’t everything on the outside?Haley boards a Greyhound bus from Jersey to Alabama and leaves everything she knows behind, not that she’s leaving much. She wants a fresh start, a new slate. She is starting her sophomore year of college somewhere where no one knows her, or her tragic past. Haley meets Kyler King her first day at school. He is a beautiful blue eyed man whom she is instantly attracted to. As fate would have it, she runs into Kyler [...]

The Upside of Letting Go - 2 Stars for creating Kyler KingAs of more than a hundred pages, I had to stop reading this book due to the following reasons:- Confusing. several things in their conversations confuses me. I can't really explain how this confused me.- Had my eyebrows up almost the whole first hundred pages or so because I just can't get it.- Lack of emotions. They were lacking big time. I'm not quite sure for the others, but I find myself often going back to the previous pages to see i [...]

I had the privilege of beta reading for Nacole Stayton's debut novel - The Upside of Letting Go. Nacole is a new and welcome author to the Indie World and her book is amazing. As if the title was enough to pull you in, I was hooked after the first chapter. TULG brings a refreshing look at love between 3 young adults; it's not the typical love triangle. Jude, Hale, and Kyler are all wonderful and interesting characters and the storyline is intriguing and face paced. It made me laugh and it made m [...]

First off, I have to say that I feel so honored to have beta read The Upside of Letting Go. I LOVED this book. It broke my heart, ripped it to shreds, stepped on it with the ball of its foot squashing it into the ground and then picked it up, rocked it back and forth then finally kissed all the boo boos and made me whole again. I can't wait for it to be "out there" for everyone else to read. I highly recommend this book!!I can't wait to watch Nacole Stayton read all of the amazing reviews this b [...]

If you liked Thoughtless and The Edge of Never (two of my favorite reads), I have no doubt that you will like this book too!The Upside of Letting Go is one of those books which truly exceeded my expectations more than I could have ever imagined. The book, originally deemed to be YA, had a cover photo of a young man pushing young woman on a swing, and it just didn’t draw me in or “intrigue” me. However, since the time this book originally showed up on , the cover photo was updated and the g [...]

**ARC provided by author for an honest review**For additional reviews please visit realitybites-letsgetlostsBlog Tour Stop on 4/16***Book Realease Date 4/20First thing I have to say is, this book has no cliffhanger. You get an ending that wraps the story up very nicely. I know those are kinda hard to come by these days, so I just wanted to throw that out there right away! When Haley steps foot in Alabama, she believes she has left her past behind and has a chance to start over. In a new place whe [...]

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS AND CUSSING. I wanted to like this book, i really did. But I couldn't. I hated Haley.I thought she'd grow on me, but nope. she didn't.i hated the way she thought of Lucy. she was suck a judgmental bitch. I hated Kyler. Lucy was okay. One thing that bothered me the most was when Kyler called Haley, Hale and SHE blew up like a volcano waiting to erupt. Chill. The. Fuck. Out. And when she first runs into Kyler, a blue eyed God? dude, you jut met him and you didn't even gi [...]

Just finished this book last night and all I can say is: whoa! Great job, Ms. Stayton!I think we've all seen/heard stories on the news, or in books where someone has very literally lost everything. We watch in horror, feeling bad for the person, and at the same time hugging our loved ones and giving thanks for their health and safety. The Upside Of Letting Go takes you on an intimate journey into the heart and mind of a young woman—Haley—who struggles to survive after her entire world collap [...]

I had the pleasure of reading this book from the get go. I fell in love with Haley as soon as she stepped off the greyhound with her old nike duffle bag. Kyler is amazingly hot and you are instantly drawn into falling in lust with him from the very start. We learn so much about these characters as they journey to let go of their pasts. It's not an easy thing to do, and sometimes it requires the right person coming into your life to tug ya along. Haley and Kyler are each others saving grace. I'm [...]

Mommy guess what Prince Charming really does exist and his name is Kyler King. He's so handsome and really smart and very broken but he does and says the sweetest things and I'm pretty sure that I'm in love with him. Do Fairytale's exist? If they did this would be one of them The only thing truly missing was the wicked stepmother, queen or evil person that all fairytale's seem to have. I could say that role was filled by "fear". A very real fear for Haley Martin and Kyler King. Haley's young lif [...]

Slow down! That's a very fitting advise for the author. I felt like Haley was ranting throughout the entire book and as such I didn't get much depth or emotions from anyone. It was all so rushed.I know I read a book sometimes and I really want to get to the meat of the matter but the anticipation is what blows it out of the water. I admire the authors projection of being straight forward and to the point but i gotta be like put the brakes on that just one minute! Like allow me to process A befor [...]

Guest Reviewer for The Book List Reviews:thebooklistreviewsNacole Stayton has hit the mark with her debut novel. Kyler and Haley’s story is sweet, funny and heartbreaking all in one breath. Their journey is not an easy one but Nacole really lets you feel that without it being overly heavy. The story is fast paced, but does not leave feeling as if you missed something. I really enjoyed the way she balanced internal dialogue, the dialogue between characters and Haley's flashbacks. The story is t [...]

I had the privilege of beta reading for Nacole Stayton and her debut novel. Getting to watch the story unfold made me feel like I was sitting in a cozy dark theater witnessing a well written screenplay. You can feel the freedom Hailey experiences stepping into a new place away from everything and everyone she knows. Your heart beats a little faster the first time she bumps into the "blue eyed god" on campus. Your stomach drops as she begins to slowly reveal the tale of why she is where she is an [...]

So I hate giving a 2 rating so let me explain. This started off good. Haley has moved way from where's she from, to go to college. . She's running really, from her hometown. Its very interesting how she chose this particular city, and I knew that would come into play later. She lost her family, very tragically. She meets resident bad boy Kyler King. Love em and leave em reputation. They meet and obviously are attracted to each other. Haley's roomie warns her, Kyler doesn't settle down. So Haley [...]

This story blew me away. It is hard to believe that this is actually Nacole Stayton's debut novel, it is that amazing. The story of a girl going to college and falling for a the unattainable guy has been done, BUT has not been done like this.Haley Martin runs away from a past she would sooner forget, to start over. Starting over didn't didn't include someone like Kyler King. (Let me just rant about him for a momenthe is definitely up their on my list of book boyfriends, he wants to be hard, but [...]

Really tried to like this book, but just couldn't. The characters are ok, the plot was fine but predictable. The biggest problem was how rushed everything felt. Like Haley and Kyler spending the day at the park swinging and playing tag. Thats all it says about there whole day. Then theres a few lines exchanged where Haley is swooning and Kyler admitting he likes her blah blah blah. Awesome that Haley likes him so much but I don't like him because I'm unable to connect with him through a handfull [...]

I was fortunate to have an ARC from Nacole Stayton for The Upside of Letting Go. I have to say I love her philosophy of "everyone has a story".Sometimes it takes finding the right person to help break down the walls and the emotional shell built around you. Haley & Kyler (awKyler) are young adults who both have suffered horrible life changing events, and are both scared to let others in. The amount of loss, sorrow and heartache they've gone through at such a young age is heartbreaking and Na [...]

I was fortunate to get to read this as a beta reader. For a debut novel I was so impressed with this book. A little warning/tissue alert: Do NOT read this book on an airplane ;) Lots of tears were shed, as this book toyed with all of my emotions. What can I say other than I was rooting for Haley and Kyler throughout this book. The ups and downs and the rollercoaster are worth it in this read. The ending left me speechless. A must read!

What can I say? I love my book : )

Not working for me. DNF at 40%

This is the same review I wrote on Where do I beginSo I started this book a day after it was released. And from the min I started, I could not put it done, I was hooked. Every word I read from the beginning, not only did I feel what was being said, but I also imagined the story being played in my mind like a movie. It simply could be made into a movie, a Lifetime television kind of movie. I laughed, I cried (a lot), I related to some parts, especially a part that hit really close to home for me. [...]

This is one of those stories where I was instantly sucked in and felt that characters anguish and emotions as if I was living them.TULG is a heart wrenching, emotional, beautiful story about letting go of your past, starting over, and moving forward. 3.5 stars Haley is running from her past, she heads off to a new college to start over and meets Kyler on her first day on campus. Of course, Kyler is the player on campus. Kyler has demons he's running from also and Haley tries to avoid him at all [...]

As soon as I started reading this, I could hardly can't stop myself. It captivated me the moment I met Haley. I admired her strength to move forward when everyone of her family are all gone. Her determination to finally let go and live her life. I must say I didn't like the things happens to her after the horrifc tradegy. The way she turn herself into. Cound't even see her like that totally mess not until she met blue-eyed guy Kyler. Kyler on the other hand has a different story to tell. Kyler i [...]

Such a sad premise but what a great story. Haley is leaving her home town in New Jersey for a fresh start, 1000 miles away where nobody knows her or the past that still haunts her. She enrolls in college where she meets Kyler (love the name-different)and becomes fast friends with her new roommate Lucy.Kyler has his own problems and Haley would never guess how much she actually has in common with the big man on campus. There are all kinds of stories about Kyler and his way with women. Lucy dates [...]

This is an ARC I was provided to read and give a review. I completely loved the entire book. The writing was phenomenal. Practically no errors with grammar, typos, and spelling. Kyler and Haley make a power couple. Both of them lost so much and to be able to find that peace with each other is what made the book so good. I also loved Jude and felt bad for him but she moved on. It was hard watching him suffer as well. I know it's hard letting go to that first true love. Been there done that. Also, [...]

Oh Haley, you just feel for this girl, she has a traumatic past but is edgy and strong despite of it. She winds up in Alabama running from her past. She meets Kyler, and she knows that he is a bad boy that she should stay away from until she finds out that his past is all to similar to hers.Together they fall deeply in love with each other. It is also in falling in love that they learn to let go of their grief. This is a quick sweet read. The writing style flows nicely and the book moves at a goo [...]

Urghhhh!!!! This book started sooooooo well all up until the past showed his face and it just ruined it for me I actually ended up skipping chapters at the end which I NEVER so just couldn't get on with it Such a shame as the start was really good! :(

Ahhhh looks soooo good cant wait to start this tonight!!Oh how I love the bad boy, with the messed up past always makes for a good heart wrenching read that leaves you wanting more!!!!

****4**** STARSThis book took me on a serious emotional roller coaster!Synopsis:Haley Martin decides the only way to let go of her lingering nightmares is to literally move on. Taking a leap of faith she finds herself enrolling at a campus hundreds of miles away from home. She leaves any thoughts of dating again in Jersey, that is until fate crosses her path with a blue-eyed stud named Kyler King. He is notoriously known for being emotionally unattainable, but his façade is only to hide the bur [...]

I'm very excited to announce that this was my very first time to participate in a blog tour, which the lovely ladies of Literati Literature Lovers have set up! Well, here goes nothing! When it comes to reading romance/new adult books, I like to say that I've read all sorts of genres within the romance category. I do my best not to have any expectations when it comes to what I read. I simply read it as if I've never heard about it before and take it one moment at a time. And I'm happy to say that [...]
